• All-time monthly sales record for GS 450h in first full month of sales

• 1,675 GS sold since start of sales, already more than doubling full 2011 GS sales

The all-new Lexus GS receives a warm welcome from customers in Europe. Already during the pre-sales period, initial orders exceeded the forecasts by 43%, and first sales results now confirm this positive outlook.

The GS petrol models, including the GS 350AWD launched in Russia and a few other eastern markets and the GS 250 launched in selected European markets, achieved 946 sales since market introduction in March 2012 (+490% vs. March-June 2011).

The all-new GS 450h, of which sales started across Europe in May-June 2012, recorded even more impressive results, with total sales of 729 units in May-June. In June, GS 450h achieved an all-time monthly sales record, with 413 units sold.

The strongest new GS 450h market is the UK (with 134 units sold in May-June) closely followed by Germany with 121 units sold. Russia is leading the sale of the GS petrol models with 273 units sold in March-June (combined GS 250 and GS 350AWD) followed by the UK with 107 units (GS 250 only). The total number of new GS units sold in Europe reached 1,675 units.

We are very pleased with the sales success, which reflects customer reaction to the bold new design, improved driving dynamics and the unique combination of power and efficiency provided by Lexus Hybrid Drive, with CO2 from 137g.
